Mel has over 20 years' experience across the financial services sector, including extensive work in banking and exposure to superannuation, with a career spanning legal, risk, governance and executive leadership roles.

She has held senior executive positions including Chief Risk Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer, giving her a deep understanding of how legal and risk decisions play out at both an operational and board level. Mel currently serves as Chief Legal & Risk Officer of Mutual Marketplace Group and is the Legal Practitioner Director of MM Legal+ (Mutual Marketplace Legal Pty Ltd).

Mel is known for her pragmatic, commercially‑focused approach to legal and risk management. She works closely with boards, executives and in‑house teams to help organisations navigate regulatory complexity, strengthen governance frameworks and embed compliance in a way that supports, rather than constrains, the business.

Through her leadership at MM Legal+, Mel brings an in‑house mindset to external legal support, helping organisations manage ongoing legal work, third‑party risk, contract management and regulatory uplift programs with confidence and clarity.
